Vietnam Vets MC / Legacy Vets
Bad Company -Chapter B- New Mexico
Our first and primary mandate is:
to do everything within our powers
to bring our POW/MIA Brothers home and
to insist that our Government demands accountability
for each and every one of those patriots.
· As Activists, we organize awareness events within our communities,
which help to illuminate the plight of often forgotten Veterans.
· As Advocates, we attempt to influence and educate our communities and the media
to the unique problems of Vietnam Veterans.
Bad Company -Chapter B- New Mexico
is proud to participate in activities that bring
awareness, honor and support to:
The Angel Fire National Vietnam Veterans Memorial
was the first Vietnam Veteran’s memorial
built in the the United States.
In northern New Mexico’s Palo Flechado Pass,
along US 64, 30 miles east from Taos,
the memorial nestles into the brow of a remote mountain knoll
overlooking the enchanted Moreno Valley
within Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial State Park.
In the eleven years following the completion of the chapel in 1971,
the memorial in Angel Fire was considered
the unofficial National Memorial for Vietnam Veterans,
until 1982 when the Wall was constructed
at the National Mall in Washington D.C.
On November 13th, 1987 President Ronald Reagan
and the United States Congress signed a proclamation
to declare the Angel Fire National Vietnam Veterans Memorial
as a memorial of national significance.
As of November 11, 2005,
the Vietnam Veterans Memorial State Park
became the first Vietnam Veterans State Park,
and is the only state park in the United States
solely dedicated as a Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
